Our client is looking for a Bids and Fundraising Officer. You will be responsible for securing new business and funding opportunities within the voluntary and statutory sector. This is a vital role that ensures the delivery and improvement of their services, including the implementation of fundraising strategies and the development of corporate partnerships.

Job requirements:

  • Proactively source statutory and non-statutory funding opportunities.
  • Be the lead officer for fundraising activities across the organisation (20% of time).
  • Gather information about potential customers, competitors, commissioners, commissioning plans and corporates to inform business planning, sustainability, and growth.
  • Contribute and lead on bid and tender writing.
  • Work closely with Business Development Business Partner to ensure new income opportunities are up to date and being tracked closely.
  • Achieve new income growth targets by contributing to and strategically developing our plans for both community fundraising and corporate partnerships.
  • Maintain effective monitoring and reporting of bids, tenders, fundraising processes, and performance.

What they are looking for:

  • A good general level of education to a GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • A degree in business or fundraising would be desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a simple and exciting way.
  • Experience in business development, income generation, or fundraising within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice and laws.
  • Ability to work well as a team and independently using initiative with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • A drive to seek out new business opportunities.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and or domestic abuse.
