Contract: 12 months
Location: Jealott's Hill, Bracknell
Salary: £17.79 per hour
SRG are working with a leading Agrochemical company to help them find a Biokinetics Scientist to join their busy team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with 2 or more-years' experience of working in the industry.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Proactively providing the scientific and technical support to inform about the bioavailability of novel agrochemicals by performing in vivo studies in whole or parts of organisms (insect, plant, plant pathogens) and/or in vitro assays using recombinant enzymes.
- Set and perform operational priorities and agree on these with the Science Leaders (SLs).
- Interpret and analyse data and present conclusions in detailed reports and presentations.
- Maintenance of plant cell cultures
- Reviewing and advancing established protocols or methodology that improves capability and efficiency.
- Transferring knowledge and building new capabilities to supplement existing toolkits.
Candidate Requirements:
- MSc (preferred) with experience in subject areas related to Entomology, Biochemistry, Insecticide ADME/Invertebrate Toxicology.
- Some professional experience working in Pharmacology, Agronomy, Crop Protection, Analytical Chemistry or Entomology is preferred.
- At least two years of laboratory-based experience, either in a relevant professional or academic setting.
- Effective scientific writing (fluent in English), verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be prepared to work with insects
- Experience handling large data sets - data storage, reporting analysis, and visualization tools.
- With experience in the study of ADME of active ingredients.
- Experience of analysing small molecules using LCMS.
