BioPharma Business Development Manager, CDMO Services

Location: Home office but with 1-2 days per week offices (SE England)

Package: Negotiable based on skills and experience (base salary plus bonus)

Taylorollinson are proud to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager on behalf of a biopharma focused CDMO. This exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to network with BioPharma, Pharma and Biotech’s to develop collaborative projects and long term partnership opportunities for CDMO services. It would suit an experienced Business Development Manager with a background selling CDMO services or a track record selling in CGT related products into BioPharma/Pharma and Biotech. The newly appointed Business Development Manager will be joining a small commercial team and will take responsibility for developing new business opportunities as well as growing revenues within the existing customer base.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Contract negotiations, outlining technical milestones & managing client expectations
  • Develop & foster relationships with key decision-makers to secure business opportunities
  • Develop & maintain a high level of product knowledge
  • Monitor & analyse market trends & competitor activity to refine BD strategy
  • Preparation of proposal, project outlines, quotes and presentations
  • Attend conferences &events to forge new relationships, developing business & supporting existing clients

Applications are welcomed from candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • MSc / PhD or extensive relevant experience in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Molecular Biology etc..)
  • Proven Sales/Business Development experience selling CDMO services (or CGT products/services)
  • Experienced working with C-Suite across multiple scaled businesses (SME’s to Mid-Cap & Large Pharma)
  • Track-record building pipeline of opportunities from standalone projects to long-term partnerships
  • Strong relationship builder and able to use their network uncover, develop and capitalise on sales
  • Good project manager; able to work collaboratively internally & externally with multi-functional teams
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to lead when selling to Snr Execs
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events

This is a home office based role and whilst you’ll be working with a global customer base there isn’t expected to be significant levels of travel as you’ll be hosting most face to face meetings at the company’s offices in SE England. In addition candidates will need to be in their Cambridgeshire facility 1-2 days per week so you’ll be either based within a ~1.5hr drive or able to relocate.
