Newark (outskirts), Full-Time, Permanent
Salary from £26,000

Our multi award-winning Newark based Client is looking for an experienced Bistro Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to take a lead role in the development of their food service offer.

THE ROLE

As a Bistro Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering excellent front of house service to all customers, ensuring that food/drink service runs smoothly.
  • Check that all café facilities, equipment or furnishings are in good order and to report any damage.
  • Follow the normal operating plan, ensuring correct opening and closing times and setting up and clearing down as required.
  • Monitor expenditure, stock, wastage and use-by dates.
  • Ensuring the completion of daily financial paperwork and cash handling and that all expenditure is covered by an invoice or receipt.
  • Creating staff rotas ensuring that staff levels are appropriate for service.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, cleanliness and professionalism and use your own initiative to respond quickly to issues or challenges that may arise when you are on duty.
THE CANDIDATE

The successful Bistro Manager candidate will ideally possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confident decision-making ability with the confidence to lead, an ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management with a flexible approach to work.
  • Logical thinker, who is able to cope under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have previous experience of working in the hospitality sector.
  • Hygiene certification Level 2.

The following is desirable, however, not essential:

  • Barista experience.
  • Previous experience within a plant-based food environment.
