My client is a local, family-run business in the building/construction industry with a rich history and a commitment to providing top-quality, bespoke products and services. The team are currently seeking an strong Bookkeeper with experience in the construction or building industry a desirable but not essential.   

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries and bank reconciliation.
  • Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
  • Review and support business processes and be confident to recommend and implement change.
  • Implement and maintain financial data management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Preferable to hold AAT L3 or equivalent with at least 2 years experience.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience in the construction or building industry.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software – particularly Sage and Xero
  • Previous experience using CRMs as well as knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.

The role is office based.
