Bookkeeper
  • Location: Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6
  • Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Salary: £28,000-£35,000 pa

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Sole Charge Bookkeeper to join our team and provide essential support to a long-established manufacturing company in Cranleigh, Surrey. With over 40 years of reputable service, this role offers a skilled individual the chance to play a vital role in the smooth operation of our business.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage all bookkeeping functions for the company using accounting software like Sage (We use Exchequer).
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain a multi-currency sales ledger and perform credit control activities.
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, and have knowledge of stock control and manufacturing journals.
  • Prepare and reconcile VAT returns and generate month-end reports.
  • Assist with various office administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies and liaising with vendors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sole Charge Bookkeeper.
  • Right to work in the UK without any restrictions on duration or nature of work.
  • Hands-on experience with modern accounting software.
  • Ability to commute to our office location in Cranleigh, Surrey.
  • Thrive in a collaborative work environment, while being able to work independently.
  • Meticulous with a strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
