About the opportunity -

Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for managing all financial records and transactions for the business, along with providing general administrative support to the business, as required.

Key Responsibilities will include -

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, ensuring accuracy of financial data.
  • Sending monthly statements to customers, managing credit control.
  • Processing of international payments to suppliers.
  • Preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns.
  • Preparation of payroll prior to submitting to Accountant.
  • Administrative support to the MD to include letter production, preparation of marketing materials, ordering of office consumables, and keeping accurate HR records.

Skills & Experience Required -

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper / accounts administrator is essential, with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, ideally within an SME business.
  • Competent in the use of accounting software, ideally Xero.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • AAT qualified is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with consistent accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, by phone, writing and in person.
  • Self-sufficient approach, ability to prioritise tasks accordingly, and capable of working to deadlines.
  • Flexible and team focused attitude to support business needs.

(The successful candidate will have a full handover to assist with learning the role and the business).
