4c Executive is representing a leading distributor of building supplies as they seek to appoint a new Branch Director. Our client has over 40 years of expertise in their field and is part of a group with over 200 years of proud history and heritage.

Based in Alcester, England, and reporting to the building division directors, the Branch Director will oversee all operational aspects of company strategy, setting strategic goals, and ensuring efficient information flow to the divisional directors and the board.

The successful candidate will have ownership of branches’ performance, developing and implementing policies and procedures as well as designing a set of robust KPIs for each store to achieve strategic operational goals and business objectives. The role holder will lead, manage and develop staff across the business, championing a customer centric mindset, enhancing the overall customer experience, ultimately driving sales and delivering commercial success.

The individual will also be responsible for overseeing the successful operation of e-commerce channel as well as warehousing and distribution ensuring OTIF delivery operations which meets customer service standards and promotes repeat business. The Branch Director will also look after a small production facility ensuring highest quality and H&S standards.

The role holder will be a driven and engaging leader, with a strong background within the building supplies industry. Additionally, the Branch Director will be required to have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of working within the building materials industry, with responsibility for the overall performance of trade and/or direct to consumer sales, delivering healthy margins, profit growth and commercial success.
  • Proven experience of managing and developing a multifaceted team, keeping staff motivated and championing a world class customer focused mindset across the business.
  • Track record of building and maintaining excellent professional relationships with partners and suppliers alike, securing the best possible contracts which protect business margins and deliver profitable partnerships.
  • Demonstrable experience of key account management successfully building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction which ultimately delivers customer retention and profitability.
