BSL Level 2 Teaching Assistant/Support Worker
Location: Croydon
Start Date: September 2024
Hours: Part-time (15 hours per week)
Salary: £12-£14.64 ph
Role Overview:
Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant/Support Worker with BSL) Level 2 to join our team in Croydon. This role involves working with a deaf nursery-aged child in a supportive and inclusive SEN setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the child's educational and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a deaf nursery-aged child.
- Utilize BSL to communicate effectively and support the child's learning.
- Assist with educational activities, ensuring they are accessible and engaging.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored support.
- Monitor and document the child's progress and provide feedback to the educational team.
Requirements:
- BSL Level 2 certification (or above) is essential.
- Previous experience in a UK-based school setting is mandatory.
- Must be comfortable working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment.
- Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the update service is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
