We are currently looking for a Building Control Manager. You will be working in Weston Super Mare (BS23). This is looking to start ASAP.

Monday - Friday

09:00am - 17:00pm

Temp Contract - Ongoing

Pay rate - £40ph paye

Job Purpose

The post holder is responsible for legislative compliance, budget, procedures and the performance of the Building Control service. The post holder is responsible for the statutory responsibility in complying with the operational standards set by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and cost recovery through commercial activities

Main Duties

  • Be responsible to the Building Control and Planning Service Development Manager for the management of the Building Control service and budget.
  • Ensure that key performance indicators and statistical information is provided in full, on time and accurately in accordance the requirements set by the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Be responsible for the recruitment, management, development, wellbeing, of staff in the service to enable high standards of performance and customer service and ensure that appropriate workforce planning and performance management is in place to enable effective service delivery.
  • Ensure that the restricted activities of plan checking and site inspection work, as defined in the Building Act 1984 (as amended), are only undertaken by persons who are registered with the Building Safety Regulator at the appropriate competency level.
