Your Company:
The talent acquisition team at NET Recruit are supporting a construction engineering business on their search for a Building Surveyor to join the team in the Basingstoke area. This business has exceptional growth plans for the next few years and have already decided to take on more clients and projects, thus spurring on the decision to expand their core team and experts and professionals.

The position holder will be leading a small team of engineers and other professionals on a variety of projects across commercial structures, public sector structures and also domestic ones too.

Your Roles & Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading on projects and assigned clients
  • Undertaking inspections, structure assessments and site surveys
  • Creating reports based on findings from these activities
  • Giving insight into solutions for defects and remediations, including potential costings
  • Overseeing a team of junior engineers and technicians to work on projects, providing training and advice on solutions
  • Managing project programmes, resources and workloads
  • Speaking directly with clients to establish the scope of each project and to outline the expected deliverables
  • Maintaining both new and existing client relationships
  • Liaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverables
  • Additional duties such as risk assessments, the monitoring of dilapidations and performing defect analysis can also be expected

What you will need to Apply:
The business is looking for an experienced building surveyor in this role, who will possess a relevant degree or HNC in Surveying or Engineering and either be already a Chartered Building Surveyor RICS or working towards this currently. Experience should amount to at least 4 years and be accompanied by strong technical knowledge within building inspections for commercial and industrial structures and also excellent written English. Applicants must have a full clean driving license and their own transport.

What you will get in Return:
The successful candidate can expect a starting salary of up to £50,000 which will of course depend on experience and qualifications, and this will also accompany a fantastic remuneration package including a generous holiday provision with the possibility to purchase additional days, and alongside this there will be a strong pension scheme, healthcare options, study support and paid membership to professional bodies and various other incentives and rewards.

This role can also be worked in a hybrid capacity with the proposed proportions being up to 40% of the position holders' time being spent at visits, 40% worked from home and the rest in the office.
