We need to find someone with a good understanding of the claims processes and systems as one of the key aims is to improve our claims reporting and processes. So, it's very much a business change type role more than a tech role. To be clear, this is a standard Business Analyst role with working with the claim's teams experience is a requirement.

Purpose of Role

The Claims Business Analyst role based in our London office will be involved in scope definition, estimation, requirements gathering, solution development, functional design, QA & UAT testing, and end-user training on assigned projects. These projects may include international operations but will primarily cover Claims related projects, but there will also be the requirement to be involved in Underwriting, and Operations for the London Market business.

The ideal candidate will have good communication, facilitation, business operations and technical knowledge, documentation skills and be independent in the delivery of assigned tasks and projects.

The candidate needs to be able to bridge the gap between the business, IT and our key vendors.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Work with the business at all levels to define and fulfil the requirements for establishing the processes and systems.
  • Support the facilitation of business differentiating software development.
  • Develop working relationships with the business to understand current processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Assist and develop detailed business cases and requirement documentation for new systems and enhancements.
  • Assess implementation activities and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate solutions elsewhere in the company to assess fit and integration into the business and technology environment.
  • Participate in packaged system evaluation and selection.
  • Develop functional process maps and use cases.
  • Support system and UAT testing.
  • Act as SME on system functionality and represent IT in business workshops and working groups.

Required education/training/experience

  • 5+ years of business and systems analysis experience.
  • Solid London Insurance market experience.
  • Experienced in analysing data to help confirm and drive requirement and solution analysis.
  • Proven ability to deliver consistently high-quality results.
  • Good documentation capabilities.

Solution Analysis

  • Experience in defining and prioritizing business requirements and needs.
  • Experience developing business cases.
  • Experience in researching various solutions and performing solution options analysis.

Domain Knowledge

  • Solid end-to-end insurance domain knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd's and Company processes.
  • Demonstrable ability to fully understand business processes and business needs.
  • Familiarity with Policy Admin Systems/ DUA systems / Pricing Tools / SharePoint / Market systems / Document Management.
  • Good understanding of IT solutions and architecture.
  • Knowledge of RPA software.

Proficiency with software systems commonly used to manage Programs/Projects (Azure Dev Ops, MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
