Business Development - CGT

Location: Home office but with 1-2 days per week offices (SE England)

Package: Negotiable based on skills and experience (base salary plus bonus)

An innovative Cell & Gene Therapy focused organisation providing CDMO services to the sector are growing and are looking to recruit a BDM/BDD to support the growth of the company. You’ll be joining a small commercial team and will take responsibility for developing new business opportunities as well as growing revenues within the existing customer base. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a background selling CDMO services and/or CGT sales (preferably both).

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for commercial contract negotiations, outlining technical milestones and managing client expectations
  • Responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key decision-makers to secure business opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of product knowledge
  • Monitor and analyse market trends and competitor activities to refine business development strategies and drive continuous improvement
  • Preparation of solution proposal, calculations and presentations
  • Attending conferences and events with the aim of developing new business and supporting existing clients

Applications are welcomed from candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • MSc/PhD or extensive relevant experience in a relevant life science field
  • Proven sales experience in a similar role
  • Track record of high-level business development including building and converting a pipeline of opportunities for both standalone projects and long-term partnerships
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability and drive to develop a professional network
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive project management skills with ability to set goals, plan & manage projects and manage the risks involved
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience of taking the lead when presenting to senior decision makers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinker with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
