A Japanese trading house in London is currently recruiting a Business Development Executive to join their Pan-EU Bioenergy department.
In this role you will be responsible for business development for bioenergy/fuel projects such as biogas, bio-ethanol, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) across value chain, especially M&A of existing assets/companies and also development of green field projects.

The ideal candidate should have work experience in companies who have business in Energy, Infrastructure, or Aviation sectors, and experience in M&A transactions.


TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £40-58K depending on experience
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Central London (Currently 2 days in the office, 3 days’ work from home - It may change depending on the company’s decision.)

Business Development Executive Main Responsibilities:

• In charge of business development work for bioenergy project such as biogas, bio-ethanol, SAF
• Taking lead for due diligence works and also feasibility studies for both of M&A opportunities and green field development in terms of commercial/technical / legal review to evaluate project and make business case with managing internal/external advisors
• Initiating new partnerships and good relationships with key stakeholders / customers / authorities and regulator
• Negotiating contracts / agreements with counterparties such as business partners, off-takers, feedstock suppliers
• Supporting and collaborating with other business departments within the company to create new business ideas in decarbonization industry
• Coordinating with the internal back-office team such as legal, accounting, risk management department to proceed with due diligence works
• Take frequent, short business trips within Europe

Business Development Executive Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in M&A transaction
• Experience and skills for managing project development and due diligence for investment including ability of valuation of assets/companies, analysis of financial models, dealing with business/accounting/legal D/D
• Experience in business development in energy or infrastructure business
• Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory information in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing business environments
• Proficient in the use of MS Office packages
• Openness to learning and staying informed about emerging trends in the bioenergy and decarbonization sector
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to take initiative, set strategic direction, and guide the team toward project goals
• This role is likely to have frequent business trips, meetings with potential partner, developer, customer mainly within Europe
