Head of Fundraising & Communications

Salary: £49,920 - £60,320 annual salary 

Contract: Permanent 

Hours: 37.5, Monday to Friday 

Location: East London (Hybrid Working)

We're looking for a Head of Fundraising & Communications to join a non-profit organisation and be part of a dedicated and friendly team. This pivotal role will lead the charity’s strategy in income generation and communication efforts, focusing on developing sustainable long-term income streams and enhancing brand awareness.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and communications strategy.
  • Set up systems to monitor funding streams and ensure compliance with legal requirements such as Data Protection and Fundraising regulations.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the fundraising and communications team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Cultivate new opportunities and relationships with supporters across trusts, foundations, corporates, and individual donors.
  • Oversee marketing and communications strategy to build the charity’s profile and increase fundraising income.
  • Engage new audiences and support the retention of existing ones.
  • Strategic input into organisational development plans alongside the Strategic Management Team.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, and resources within the department.
  • Lead and manage the development of team members, fostering a culture of contribution and engagement aligned with our values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering a multi-stream fundraising strategy with targets of £1m+.
  • Strong background in strategy and planning.
  • Experience in producing communications and/or marketing strategies is desirable.
  • Strategic understanding of supporter management and journeys.
  • Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to provide collaborative leadership and develop professional relationships at all levels.
