Our client is seeking an experienced BDM to join their team.

Role Overview: As a BDM you will play a crucial role in driving sales initiatives, developing and maintaining contractor accounts, and achieving sales targets while upholding high standards of customer service. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to manage and prioritise tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve weekly and monthly visit targets as set by the Sales Director.
  • Focus on achieving monthly sales targets while maintaining margin in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.
  • Proactively manage and develop existing contractor accounts to achieve target spend while maintaining and developing margin.
  • Fully develop and understand sales territory, including geographical segmentation to identify potential business opportunities.
  • Complete visit reports and submit them onto the company CRM on a daily basis.
  • Attend relevant networking and trade events to enhance business opportunities.
  • Plan and prioritise sales activities and customer/prospect contact to achieve agreed business aims, including costs and sales management.
  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings to aid contractor business development.
  • Involve the Sales Director in external meetings with customers and prospects as necessary.
  • Attend training sessions to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
  • Advise teams on gross margin and pricing policy.
  • Liaise with the sales team to handle incoming orders accurately and timely.
  • Delegate new business leads promptly and maximize lead conversion.
  • Generate and follow up on quotations to convert them into orders.
  • Provide technical sales advice and support to customers and the sales team.
  • Prepare customer quotations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Liaise with suppliers for prices and availability on special items when required.
  • Maintain contractor account lists to ensure customer relations are up to date, and assist sales executives with their accounts.
  • Maintain and secure company equipment and ensure company vehicle and mobile phone comply with regulations and service intervals.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a BDM/sales role.
  • Ability identify potential customers and make prospective calls
  • Experience of maximising sales for new and existing business
  • Goal and target-driven.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Windows Applications and good keyboard skills.
