Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Remote (twice monthly visits to Leicester)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible hours available)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager from the energy or utilities industry, or an Account Manager looking to take the next step in their career. This role offers the flexibility of working from home, with occasional visits to the Leicester office (twice a month). The primary responsibility is to optimise Third Party Intermediary (TPI) relationships and ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised through high levels of service, enabling trust and partner satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • TPI Relationship Management:

    • Develop strong working relationships with TPIs to generate sales opportunities.
    • Collaborate on strategies to maximise value with TPIs.
    • Provide onboarding and training for new TPIs and retrain existing ones as necessary.
  • Sales Process Optimisation:

    • Ensure that processes and procedures for the TPI sales segment are efficient and effective.
    • Suggest improvements and advancements for the TPI sales segment.
    • Maintain quality measures to ensure a high "go live rate," minimising revenue risk.
  • Diary and Cost Management:

    • Effectively manage diary and meetings to maintain service levels while considering costs.
  • Cross-Department Communication:

    • Ensure effective communication with internal administration and contract processing teams.
Key Skills & Requirements:
  • Experience: Strong background in the energy or utilities industry, or in a relevant sales role.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and transparent communication skills.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: High level of negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to drive change and create strategies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the business and energy sectors.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail.
  • Positive Attitude: A proactive, driven attitude with a desire to succeed.
  • Technical Skills: Good computer skills and proficiency with relevant software.
