We are collaborating with a rapidly expanding Multi-Disciplinary Design & Surveying Consultancy that operates nationwide across the UK. This firm boasts a diverse portfolio of projects within the construction industry, with a particular emphasis on working with main contractors on HM Government Department contracts, including those for the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Department for Transport (DfT), and Environment Agencies.

Their team of experts is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional client service from conceptual design through to project completion.

We are seeking a talented and self-driven Business Development Manager to work with existing accounts, drive growth, and expand our client base across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the construction industry while managing established key accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets, focusing on HM Government departments and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, Tier One HM Government contract organizations, regional senior and site-based project managers, engineers, contractors, and developers.
  • Understand client structures, influencers, decision-makers, and processes.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and potential areas for expansion.
  • Travel & represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform business strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to existing and prospective clients, showcasing the company's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Proven track record of success in business development, preferably within the construction or related industry, with an emphasis on experience in HM Government contracts, particularly with the MoD, DfT, and Environment Agency.
  • Previous experience in the aforementioned sectors, especially with the MoD, is advantageous.
  • Ideally, candidates should have current or previous security clearance to operate freely across these contracts and a clear DBS.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with full diary management, along with a willingness to travel nationwide as required.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to exceed targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Broad knowledge of, or the ability to learn, construction and design-build processes, including building surveys, project management, electrical, mechanical, and architectural services.
  • HND/HNC or Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction, or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as the role requires.

Summary:

Position: Business Development Manager

Location: Remote (UK-based), ideally in South Central England, with travel across the UK

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per year (base) + Car + Commission + Other benefits

Hours: Full-Time, Monday - Friday

Start: Notice Dependent
