A major global law firm with a sector-driven and technology-focused approach, needs an established Business Development professional on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to support their unique programme offering early-stage tech start-ups access to the legal services which they require in order to scale.

The successful applicant will be joining a future facing firm who take a bold, dynamic and agile approach to ensure their clients are able to face the future with confidence. Since its establishment in 2016, the firm’s curated accelerator has supported more than 150 start-ups in the UK. Members of the programme have access to sector-focused legal advice at special discounted rates, fixed fee services, introductions to relevant industry players and exclusive events and networking opportunities. The firm are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Business Development Programme Manager who can work on the day-to-day running of the programme both in the UK and with the firm’s teams internationally. Acting as an ambassador for the programme through attendance at external events and acting proactively in the market, you will be required to identify external partnership opportunities and provide a pipeline of potential new members. Managing internal stakeholders and responding to international queries, you will be responsible for leading the business planning and budgeting processes. On the marketing side, the role holder will be heavily involved in internal and external communications, PR and social media and event planning and coordination in order to raise the profile of the programme.

With a proactive and can-do approach, the ideal candidate will have proven marketing and BD experience gained whilst working in a professional services environment, ideally within a law firm. The Business Development Programme Manager will possess excellent numerical and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with partners and staff at all levels and will be skilled at presenting complex information and concepts in a clear and concise manner. A strong ability to grasp, retain and analyse complex information and concepts will also be key to success in this challenging role. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate a particular interest in working with start-ups and early-stage technology led businesses and an excellent working knowledge of the technology sector. Any previous insight and experience in the venture capital or the early-stage investment market, with a focus in IP rich industries including technology, digital or life sciences, will be highly advantageous.
