Business Development Representative- £23,000- £30,000 + Open Ended Commission + Incentives & Benefits- Ardrossan, Ayrshire

The Role

Do you have a proven track record in call centre or office-based sales and the ability to build strong relationships with clients? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a structural defects warranty provider, looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Representative to our growing team.

You will play a key role in expanding our client base across the UK and will be responsible for generating new business by prospecting for new opportunities, building relationships with clients, and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting new opportunities and taking responsibility for direct sales throughout the full sales process.
  • Driving new business income.
  • Meeting sales targets and achieving agreed KPIs.
  • Following up sales leads and maintaining sales momentum.
  • Ensuring all leads are closed by following up indications and quotes within agreed time limits.
  • Identifying opportunities that fit into the Q target market using Barbour ABI and other lead sources.
  • Representing Q and associated companies as a key Client contact throughout the country and act as key ambassador for all Q, and associated company, services.
  • Liaising regularly with clients and prospective clients to follow up indications and initial information provided to secure new business, following up indications and quotations to help improve the conversion ratio.
  • Assisting prospective clients in completing registration documents over the phone.
  • Following the Q Internal Underwriting Guide to assist in the preparation of pricing indications and quotes within agreed parameters, in line with the company’s protocol.
  • Providing formal feedback & reporting so that the company can respond to changing market conditions.
  • Providing new clients / prospective clients with corporate documentation relating to Q, including marketing brochures, registration documents and guides.
  • Developing relationships to promote client loyalty and ensure repeat business from current and prospective clients.
  • Completing ongoing FCA compliance training.
  • Other assigned duties.

The Q Policy from Q Assure Build Ltd is a Structural Defects Warranty for new build, refurbishment and conversion developments which puts quality build and customer service first.

Our highly risk-managed, quality focused approach delivers a flexible insurance approach to the Residential and Commercial Property Sectors, offering a true alternative to the standard warranty available.

The Person

  • A proven track record in office or call centre-based sales, must be able to demonstrate the ability to persuade and influence senior people, ideally, in a commercial environment.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and unsupervised / integrate well as a team member and generally possess a flexible attitude. This role will require a confident individual who has the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of different personalities.
  • Excellent communication skills essential. Ability to converse confidently with people - excellent written & spoken English with a keen eye for detail is absolutely essential for the role. Excellent telephone manner & ability to remain calm in all situations.
  • Relevant experience in a sales, marketing and business development environment, with experience of telephone marketing, either within the house building and construction industry, or within the insurance industry.
  • Well-organised individual with the ability to prioritise workload with flexibility to multi-task.
  • IT literate and competent, experienced user of all Microsoft Office software - high level of competence expected in both Word & Excel. Must have a confident attitude towards the use of technology.
