Business Intelligence Consultant

Summary:

Altum Consulting are currently working with a large multi-national that successfully completed on a large acquisition this year and have mobilised the integration management office to drive synergies and efficiencies across people, process, technology and data.

We are searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Consultant to join this growing team. In this critical role, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that empower our business users to make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Utilise Power Query to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for analysis in Power BI.
• Connect to various data sources, cleanse, and transform data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Design and develop robust and efficient data models within the Microsoft Data Fabric architecture (experience with Azure Data Lake Storage a plus).
• Perform thorough data validation to guarantee the integrity and reliability of information.
• Test and compare new reports against existing reports to identify improvements and ensure continuity of insights.
• Assist with the migration of legacy BI systems to the new platform.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate those needs into actionable reporting solutions.
• Participate in the ongoing development and optimization of our data infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with another BI Consultant to ensure efficient data mapping processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a BI Consultant or related data analysis role.
• Proven experience with Power Query and Power BI for data extraction, transformation, and visualization.
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.
• Experience with data cleansing and validation techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Data Fabric architecture (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
• Experience with data migration methodologies.
• Experience with SQL queries for data manipulation.
• Experience with building dashboards using other visualisation tools
