Job Title: Business Support & Events Manager

Reporting To: Chief Executive

We're seeking a flexible, highly motivated Business Support & Events Manager who will play a pivotal role in ensuring our daily operations run smoothly while delivering impactful, memorable events that supercharge our brand and membership experience.

Working within our friendly and highly effective team near Peterborough, you'll bring your creativity and drive to enhance our member experiences, innovate our event portfolio, and boost our market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Support & Administration

  • Provide comprehensive business support to ensure smooth organisational operations.
  • Manage correspondence, maintain accurate records, and assist with general administrative tasks.
  • Support internal teams with scheduling, reporting, and project coordination.

Event Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute imaginative industry events, conferences, and networking sessions.
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue scouting, supplier liaison, attendee registration, and on-site coordination.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, sponsorship agreements, and promotional activities.
  • Deliver seamless event execution and conduct thorough post-event evaluations.
  • Liaise directly with customers, sponsors, and exhibitors to ensure an exceptional customer journey.
  • Manage event-related invoicing and payments accurately and efficiently.

Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate closely with our Head of Media to produce compelling content and marketing strategies that boost FPC membership offerings and elevate our events.
  • Promote membership benefits, events, and initiatives via social media, newsletters, and targeted email campaigns.
  • Assist in developing clear, engaging marketing collateral to amplify the FPC brand.

Membership Management

  • Oversee the full membership lifecycle, from onboarding and renewals to strategic retention initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member enquiries, providing exceptional service and proactive solutions.
  • Maintain and update CRM and email platforms, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Devise creative initiatives to boost member engagement and satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular membership reports and insights to track performance and guide strategy.
  • Manage annual subscription invoicing and payment processes.

Forums, Workshops & Thought Leadership

  • Expand innovative forums and workshops by identifying industry trends and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop topical, engaging events that offer tangible benefits to our members.

General Responsibilities & Team Collaboration

  • Proactively engage with industry developments, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the fresh produce sector.
  • Contribute creatively to marketing initiatives, ensuring compelling and impactful content.
  • Participate actively in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Undertake special projects with enthusiasm, applying strategic thinking and innovation to deliver results.
