Skylark Fostering is being established by two colleagues with a real vision and passion for supporting children and young people in foster care. Put simply, we want Skylark Fostering to become a leader not just in practice, but in genuinely outstanding outcomes for fostered children.

Our main Office is in Lincoln (with free parking).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

First and foremost, we are looking for a personable, competent and reliable person. You must be able to work as part of a team, (and like all the best Administrators!), multi-task when needed to ensure effective administrative support and ensuring efficient day-to-day office tasks.

In the first phase the post will be 14 hours per week, which could be worked over two days, or up to 4 days (for example 10 am to 3.00 pm) for a working parent. However some flexibility will be required to ensure key tasks are met such as Fostering Panel. As the service grows, so will the opportunity for more hours up to a full time position.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Act as first point of contact for our customers and portray a positive, professional and helpful image of the organisation
  • Typing / word processing a variety of documents e.g. memos / letters / reports.
  • Assist in collating and preparing documentation for Fostering Panels
  • Photocopying, recording and processing mail and key documents as is required.
  • Producing minutes of various meetings to a deadline, including minuting the Fostering Panel.
  • Co-ordinate and organise meeting spaces, for example for professionals and foster carer training
  • Liaising with staff, managers and external customers / clients to ensure the above tasks are completed effectively.
  • Contribute to the team effort.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Previous Administrative experience
  • Educated to a good standard
  • Be competent in the use of IT and operating platforms Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook email.
  • Knowledge of CHARMS as an operating platform particularly desirable
  • A good knowledge of administrative systems and processes
  • Be personable people-orientated, and an excellent communicator.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle changing priorities
