A leading Food producer require a Buyer to lead procurement across packaging and indirect spend areas. Applicants need strategic-level procurement expertise, and ideally experienced across; non-production, packaging and indirects.

The Buyer - Indirects & Packaging will join a collaborative and high-performing procurement team. Reporting to the head of function, the Buyer - Indirects & Packaging will develop and implement procurement strategies across the assigned spend categories. Under the banner of indirects falls; capex, chemicals, consumables, FM, logistics & transport, PPE, utilities and of course packaging. You would not need experience across all of these spend areas.

Specific duties of the Buyer - Indirects & Packaging includes:

  • Supply market intelligence and market analysis across packaging and indirects
  • Identify new sources of supply, negotiate and agree LTAs
  • Management of existing supplier base - driving improved performance and collaboration
  • Supply Chain Risk Mitigation activities
  • Stakeholder partnering
  • Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting activities
  • Contribute to wider organisation goals around sustainability and ESG.

Buyer - Indirect & Packaging applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of developing and executing procurement and sourcing strategies
  • Previous procurement experience across; packaging, indirects and non-production
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills
  • A motivated self-starter and collaborator
  • Stakeholder management and partnering skills.
