Butler Rose are currently working alongside a rapidly expanding green energy and recycling business, who currently have a vacancy for an experienced Buyer. The role is hybrid but will require the chosen person to spend one day per fortnight on site in Bristol, as well as requirement for travel to meetings at the company site in the Southeast on a monthly basis. This is a temporary to permanent position

The role

The Buyer is a critical role within the team in ensuring that value is delivered to the business. The role works closely with in the wider supply chain team, internal stakeholders, external third parties and continuously seeks to improve value delivery through a framework of Category & Supply Chain Management.

The Buyer will act as the first point of contact for all procurement needs. You will offer support to the wider business by guiding them through the appropriate channels ensuring procurement requirements are met as well as playing an active role in continuous improvement of processes and strategy.

Duties include:

  • Be the single point of contact to the stakeholders of the designated sites.
  • Understanding the local purchasing requirements: anticipate, collect, and optimise the site's requirements in terms of quantity and specifications.
  • Ensure internal customer satisfaction with the performance of the purchasing team.
  • Entry point for all purchase requests.
  • Supplier quality management.
  • Close collaboration with the supply chain / procurement team on strategic procurement projects.
  • Stakeholder management, ensuring the relevant sites adhere to correct process.
  • Responsible of the Source to Contract process for local purchase opex / capex
  • Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts
  • Propose and manage local purchase synergies (multi-sites contracts)
  • Monitoring suppliers 'performance, KPI's

Experience required

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
  • Microsoft Dynamix 365 experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop/maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills at senior level
  • Strong team player
  • Must be willing to travel for work (4 days from home 1 day per week in either Kent or Bristol)

Package

  • £40,000 + benefits
  • Annual bonus
  • Temporary to permanent role
  • Hybrid role/remote role - expectation to be on site 1 day per week
