My client is seeking a diligent and proactive Buyer to join their Procurement team. The role involves obtaining quotations and purchasing a variety of items to support production and the wider organisation, including raw materials, tooling, sundries, parts, and subcontracted processes. The Buyer will manage the supply chain to ensure optimal supplier performance and value.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure all purchasing conforms with customer requirements.
  • Obtain costs and lead times to support customer quotes.
  • Purchase items to support production, including raw materials, tooling, sundries, parts, and subcontracted processes.
  • Maintain current supplier estimated delivery dates in the ERP system.
  • Participate in supplier approval and management activities, including identifying potential suppliers, obtaining information/quotes, and visiting suppliers.
  • Communicate with suppliers on current performance and issues while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Work alternative shifts/hours if required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties or specific projects as directed by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Experience interacting with a supply chain.
    • IT literacy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good time management skills.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience within the Aerospace Industry.
    • Experience with Airbus purchasing requirements.
    • Understanding of Special Processes.
