ROLE: Buyer (Foodservice)

SALARY: Up to £55,000 DOE

LOCATION: Tideswell (Hybrid)

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a national food wholesaler, who are looking to expand their procurement team and recruit an experienced Buyer.

This is a rare opportunity to join an industry-leading business, who have been established for over 50 years’ and are continuing to grow year-on-year.

THE CANDIDATE: The right candidate will ideally have a strong background of procurement within the foodservice industry, however candidates from different sectors will be considered.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have excellent negotiation skills, have a keen eye for market trends, and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

DAILY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Contract Negotiation: Drive negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms in areas such as pricing, rebates, and promotional support, aligning with our company's goals and the interests of our partners.
  • Market Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct regular market research, gap analyses, and range reviews to identify opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Performance Analysis and Solutions: Utilise analytical reports to identify areas of underperformance and implement strategic solutions to address them, collaborating with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with our supplier base, fostering engagement, collaboration, and partnership opportunities for mutual benefit.
  • Contributions to KPIs: Drive initiatives contributing to annual buying income KPI, such as securing rebates, negotiating favourable supplier terms, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Contract Compliance and Management: Ensure seamless compliance of contract terms by engaging stakeholders and senior management, ensuring accurate and fully signed contracts are filed well in advance of contract start dates.
