Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based near Cannock on full-time permanent basis. The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement and management of inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team and customers for supply chain decisions.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Procurement Manager.
  • Ensure personal and others' health and safety in all activities.
  • Keep business systems updated with relevant information.
  • Manage daily demand reports and adjust stock levels for supply continuity.
  • Negotiate cost reductions and manage supplier cost increases.
  • Increase buying power with selected suppliers and manage stock levels to avoid excess and obsolescence.
  • Ensure favorable payment terms and manage pricing variations with the commercial team.
  • Work on reducing lead times and increasing stock turns using various stock management tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The buyer position requires a detail orientated professional, who possesses excellent communication and relationship building skills, coupled with the ability to work under a somewhat time pressured environment to satisfy production demands. The role requires the ability to influence buying decisions to guarantee preferred terms with regards to quality, cost and delivery that will directly feed into the Procurement strategy.
