Our client, are currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team on a 12-month contract for an onshore construction project in Kingston-Upon-Thames.

This Buyer role will involve the preparation/negotiation of major packages for EPCI of onshore packages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of major subcontracts and purchase orders for EPCI of onshore construction projects.
  • Reviewing variation order requests from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Liaising with department staff regarding purchasing requests and informing them on technical, commercial, and contractual developments related to the managed packages, including vendor feedback.
  • Assisting with other departmental duties during the absence of departmental members.
  • Ensuring activities comply with Government acts, statutory regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience in procurement, especially within the oil and gas sector.
  • In-depth understanding and experience in negotiating high-value subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Familiarity with SAP for creating and processing subcontracts and PO's is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Membership of a Purchasing Institute is preferable but not essential.
