Our client, based in the Wrexham area is currently recruiting a Buyer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Performance Objectives
- Show initiative in defining a need for the business, sourcing, quoting and leading negotiations in line with company demand.
- Be able to influence decision making with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be the point of contact between suppliers and internal customers.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and the Purchasing Manager to understand the business requirements and help to translate into a sourcing strategy.
- Lead the sourcing of fabricated and CNC components to both UK and LCC suppliers.
- Resolving urgent component shortages.
- Running MRP on a regular and timely basis.
- Negotiating with suppliers to achieve cost reduction targets
- Resolving all invoice queries.
- Ensuring all part records are kept up to date with latest prices / volume discounts etc.
- Resolving any delivery discrepancies promptly and working with suppliers to minimise future discrepancies.
- Dealing with any other ad-hoc enquiries as the role requires.
