Quest Search & Selection are partnering with this leading food buying & procurement organisation based in the UK. Their clients will include foodservice sites and hospitality partners who would purchase food, ingredients, and everything in-between! This business work closely with their clients to deliver expert procurement services saving them both time and money whilst offering a unique purchasing power.

This role of the Buying Manager to take overall accountability for the management of their Drinks Category. This role reports into the Head of Buying and will manage a spend of 40 -70 million.

The responsibilities of this Buying Manager - Drinks -

  • Manage day-to-day Hot drinks/beverages supplier and contract relations, ensuring business relationships are maximised by conducting periodic and quarterly business
  • Develop category strategy for Hot Beverages and a three-year income growth plan using continuous improvement tools and processes.
  • Aim to drive sustainable KPI's through procurement and supply chain
  • Driving quality and gross margin delivery, ensure supply chain compliance.
  • Grow category rebate delivery, maximising the overall commercial value through strategic sourcing.
  • Provide effective leadership and development to a category buyer.
  • Ensure service levels from contracted manufacturers to distributors exceed business expectations and deliver volume growth.
  • Foster close supplier relationships & gain understanding of competitors.

The experience required for this Buying Manager - Drinks :

  • Ideally having 4 + years' experience in procurement/buying in hot drinks/beverages for example Tea, Coffee & Coca categories.
  • Experience in turnover spend or more 20 million +
  • Experienced in coaching, developing, and leading procurement Buyer Assist (is desirable for not essential)
  • Expert in using analytical tools to draw conclusions and communicate recommendations from complex data through a holistic approach, not just functional optimization.
  • Strong decision maker with good commercial acumen, comfortable working under pressure.
