Care Logistics Lead

£25,000-£31,320 per annum plus benefits

Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM

We’re looking for an ambitious logistics professional to join us as a care logistics lead. If you have the experience and empathetic approach we need, we can offer you a fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a business that puts people at the heart of its strategy.

In this role, we’ll look to you to supervise and coordinate a team of ceremonial crew to make sure that each and every funeral is delivered to the highest possible standard. Using both manual and digital systems and processes, it’ll be up to you to make sure that each and every person is in the right place at the right time.

What you’ll do

• manage and coordinate the schedule of ceremonial crew - a team of primarily part time colleagues who drive, carry the coffin and support on the day of funerals

• deputise for the care logistics manager

• plan clothing collection, the movement of personal belongings and the transportation of the deceased for viewings, as required

• gather and analyse insight to drive continuous improvements in the delivery of funerals and team performance

• maintain a good understanding of the local environment, local stakeholders such as clergy, crematoria, hospitals and care providers and adapt or improve processes accordingly

This role would suit people who have

• a strong team focus and the ability to work at pace in a rapidly changing environment

• a real passion for customer experience, and the desire to make sure each and every client’s experience is a positive one through understanding needs clearly

• the sensitivity to act with discretion and empathy

• an ability to act promptly but in a measured and considered way

• a full UK manual driving license

• the physical ability to carry out lifting and manual handling of heavy loads
