Job Description
Oxfordshire County Counil are seeking a 16-19yrs Careers Coordinator (Migrants) to join their team in Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the 16-19 year Education and Careers Programmes for newly arrived migrant children across Oxfordshire
- To manage a caseload of work, including one-to-one and group information, advice and guidance sessions that are appropriate
- To work to the Migrant Education Strategic plan and contribute to children's services and wider council priorities
- To facilitate drop-in sessions and workships, as well as small group sessions and larger presentations across Oxfordshire
- To effectively utilise IT systems for administrative duties, such as recording and tracking all interactions with students, as well as providing information, advice and guidance via electronic resources such as email, webchat and telephone
Requirements
- Excellent understanding and experience of educational policy and practise across Key Stages 4 and 5 as well as Further and Higher Education
- Excellent understanding and experience of 16-19 years careers advice and guidance, including EET legislation in addition to school and college careers provision
- Understanding, and preferably some experience of government funding and guidance about Afghan, Ukranian, Hong Kong BNO, Asylum Seeker migrants groups and be able to respond to other migrant arrivals
- A qualification in advice and guidance e.g. Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance or NVQ Level 4 in Advice & Guidance
- Essential Degree Level Qualification in relevant subject
- Must be a car driver
