School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative who is an energetic, physically fit, pro-active and organised handyperson is required for a School based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Specific trade strengths in any area such as painting, plumbing and/or carpentry would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job. Full health and safety training will be given

SALARY: £23,115 per annum + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, 11.00am - 7.00pm Monday to Friday - Flexibility regarding the start/finish times will be required to cover colleague’s holidays

Working as the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will help maintain the school site in order to provide a clean and safe environment for all users of the school.

As the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will work with the site team ensuring general repairs and maintenance are carried out. You will need to be able to use your initiative and problem solve whilst ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to.

Specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.

Full health and safety training will be given.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will be able to:

  • Show initiative, be proactive, have good organisational and time management skills
  • Be a team player and be a member of the school community
  • Be able to work in a flexible manner to support the needs of the school
  • Take responsibility for security and be a key holder
  • Undertake a range of repairs and maintenance and ensure lighting and heating are operational
  • Ensure that a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is maintained
  • Carry out the compliance checks as required (Full training provided)
