The Role:
As a Category Assistant (Non Residential), you will have the drive  and ambition to work within a dynamic, commercial function and you may be you  looking to take your first step into a career in Buying or Category. 
The purpose of this Category Assistant is to provide the information and product data that is the foundation of every decision that is made within our given category.  Category Assistants will need to ensure the basics are completed on time and accurately, and use their experience to support their category manager and develop further by learning about their categories and beginning to learn the foundations of category management.
Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the accurate set up and maintenance of all the products in a given category. This requires an understanding of our systems and the different requirements that need to be managed to ensure all departments and our customers have the correct information to complete a sale. The expert within the given category team on how products are set up and the systems used in order to do this.
Accountable for reporting, using data studio to provide the category manager with all the sales and performance information when it is needed. Has a thorough understanding of data studio and is able to provide ‘what has happened’ information for category manager for them to analyse and react accordingly.
Responsible for supporting the branch and estimating team requests for information across the given category products that enables them to make better commercial decisions ensuring that responses are provided within agreed timeframes.
Responsible for building an understand our competitors and what they are offering in the given product category product and provide category manager with this information as it is requested.
Responsible for supporting category manager to deliver compelling, on time, and accurate promotional and pricing plans by ensuring they have the information they need to make the promotional decisions. Accountable for the completion of all templates, promotional logs, image and date requirements to ensure the effective implementation of promotional and pricing plans, to agreed timescales.

This is a hybrid-based opportunity with up to 2-3 days per week in the office.
You should be based in the UK and our Head Offices are in Crick (Northampton).
You:
Previous experience isn't essential for our Category Assistant roles, so you may have retail experience, be a recent graduate or currently working in our network already.
