Catering Manager - Greenwich - Long term/Permanent

Location:Greenwich, Secondary School

Hours: 6:00AM - 1:00PM or 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Catering Manager/School Chef to join our secondary school in Greenwich. This role is integral to providing nutritious, high-quality meals to our students, ensuring their health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve balanced and nutritious meals for students and staff.
- Oversee the daily operations of the school kitchen, including inventory management, budgeting, and ordering supplies.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
- Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high standards of service.
- Develop and adapt menus to accommodate dietary needs, allergies, and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Catering Manager or Chef within a school setting.
- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Professional Cookery, Food Hygiene Certificate).
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and work efficiently under pressure.
