Starting Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Catering Supervisor for our client based in the Birmingham area.

Location: Erdington
Hours: 32.5hrs
Pay rate: £11.79 - £12.80ph

A perm opportunity will be provided for the right candidate.

You will need to liaise with Catering team members, school leader, staff, students, support services teams and external stake holders.

Job Purpose: Support the Chef Manager by organising and supervising the unit, ensuring compliance with client standards and regulations. Delegate daily tasks to the Catering team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective food service. Assist in food preparation, cooking, and service to meet agreed standards. Lead, develop, and motivate your team to foster a positive work culture and achieve objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chef Manager in training the team to prepare and serve healthy, appealing meals, boosting school meal uptake.
  • Oversee catering within budget at the client schools, ensuring staff adhere to rules and operational standards.
Operations:
  • Prepare and cook compliant, nutritionally balanced menus.
  • Support training, development, and identify further needs.
  • Help with bookkeeping and weekly financial reports.
  • Plan 12 annual special events with the marketing toolbox.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation and promote nutritious food.
  • Provide management cover during absences.
  • Attend meetings for dialogue with customers and superiors.
Catering Staff
  • Assist in motivating, training, organising, and delegating tasks.
  • Identify and address development areas.
  • Ensure staff are presentable and professional.
  • Provide management cover during absences and holidays.
  • Complete required training sessions.
