Join our CDM Team and play a crucial role in protecting Anglian Water as a legal duty holder under the Construction Design and Management Regulations (2015). As a CDM advisor, you will assist Anglian Water in fulfilling its obligations by providing assurance through diverse activities, checks, and audits. You will also offer ongoing professional support across all areas of the business involved in building, civil engineering, or any other engineering construction work.

What you'll be doing:

We are seeking a skilled professional to ensure CDM competency checks for potential PD/Designers and PC/Contractors, issue appointment letters, and establish a robust project classification process. The role involves monitoring internal/external CDM procedures, ensuring CDM strategies are defined, and reviewing PCI/Design and Design Risk Management. Responsibilities include ensuring Pre-Construction Information is prepared and collated, ensuring H&S in considered in design to make it safe to build, operate and maintain, attending design review meetings, and improving MoCDM procedures. Additionally, you will create bespoke CDM training, share best practices, ensure F10 notifications are issued, review Construction Phase Plans and high-risk activities, and ensure CDM compliance for linked projects.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Proven track record in a Health and Safety related role/s
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent (Engineering/ Construction related preferable)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • An extensive understanding of both Health and Safety Law and CDM Regulations including requirements for all duty holders
  • Extensive practical design safety experience in design and construction
  • Significant experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders within an organisation
  • Demonstratable success in developing and advancing business processes in line with continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, always clear and concise (verbal and written)
