Cemetery Maintenance Operative

VNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a cemetery maintenance operative for our client based in Cwmbran.

As a Cemetery Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining the dignity and tranquillity of cemetery grounds. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that these areas are well-kept, safe, and provide a peaceful environment for visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mowing lawns, trimming edges, and maintaining gravesites
• Planting, pruning, and caring for flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Removing litter and debris from cemetery grounds
• Assisting with the preparation and backfilling of graves
• Cleaning and maintaining cemetery facilities and equipment
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies
• Interacting courteously and respectfully with visitors

Requirements:

• Previous experience in grounds or cemetery maintenance is advantageous but not essential
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual labour
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Sensitivity and respect for the nature of the work
• Full UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory
