Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Central Planner, working for a client located in Hartlepool. Reporting to the Transport Director. The successful candidate will deliver a range of duties in support of the central planning function.
Central Planner Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day routing of vehicles within the business in an efficient and effective manner. Working as part of a centralised team.
- Implementation of Health, Safety & Environment policies.
- Scheduling all vehicles for the sites/region allocated to this role.
- Holiday and absence driver management for the sites/region allocated to this role.
- Driver briefing and de-briefing in co-ordination with regional traffic operators.
- Ensuring drivers are available for all necessary training.
- Ensuring vehicles are available for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Depot fuel stock management.
- Producing and providing all relevant reporting.
- Ensuring all planning objectives are met and exceeded when possible.
Central Planner Applicants:
Essential:
- Strong planning skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining compliance.
- Strong I.T. skills.
- An ability to motivate and engage the team in understanding best practice and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
- An ability to develop and maintain a harmonious team working environment, reducing points of conflict, and resolving any issues at the earliest stage possible.
- An ability to make the best use of the resources available to address the agreed priorities.
- A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all relevant regulatory, law and compliance legislation.
- An ability to analyse data to provide effective management reporting to enable fully informed decision making for the Transport Director.
Desirable:
- Level 3 supervisory Management (ILM or CMI).
- Previous experience of working in a planning environment for a liquid fuel distributor.
