CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER / ANGLESEY / UP TO £47K & GREAT BENEFITS

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Chief Executive Officer to join a long-standing, warm-hearted charity that makes a real difference to people's lives.

Tyddyn Môn is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity. We have been providing support for adults with a learning disability with a range of needs for over 35 years. We offer person-centred care and support at eight supported living settings on Anglesey, where we create an environment that promotes independence and positive outcomes, where individuals are supported to shape their own lives. What we do makes a real difference.

We have an exciting opening for a Chief Executive Officer to join us.

You will be responsible for the charitable company's leadership and corporate management. This includes leading executive functions, overseeing the management and quality of all services, tendering for contracts and assisting the Board of Trustees to set the strategic direction.

We are seeking an inspirational leader who will champion the interests of the people we support, value our workforce, and promote our values.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of £45,000 - £47,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 37.5 hours contracted per week, with some evening and weekend work - time in lieu for any overtime
  • Generous annual leave - 30 days per annum inclusive of public holidays

Key Responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer:

  • The postholder must register with Care Inspectorate Wales and serve as the designated Responsible Individual for the regulated Supported Living Services.
  • Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and improve the strategic plan.
  • Maintain a strategic overview of the learning disability sector and issues affecting it, identifying emerging trends.
  • Encourage a good working relationship with and between all staff.
  • Develop effective communication with people receiving support, their representatives and all other parties.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all commissioners, professionals, community groups and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop community social enterprises to provide skills, training and work-based opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
  • Ensure that Tyddyn Môn maintains financial stability (current turnover of £2.4m), meets contractual and grant obligations, and provides exceptional services.
  • Ensure that proper financial systems are established and effectively monitored and that appropriate action is recommended to address problems identified.
  • Prepare the annual budget for all operations, set annual wage increases in consultation with the Board, and monitor the company's monthly cash flow.
  • Prepare reports and write policies for the Board of Trustees.
  • Ensure that people receiving support and their representatives are actively involved and consulted in the development of services and the company.
  • Provide vision and leadership to staff teams and maintain an organisational culture that attracts, retains, motivates, and enables diverse and quality staff.
  • Review and maintain job descriptions for all staff.
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality support services to ensure the highest standard of service for individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain the volunteer programme.
  • Design the staff development day and deliver some training

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experienced senior leader, preferably within health and social care or the charity sectors
  • Experience in leading and managing organisational change with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for people
  • Evidence of the ability to motivate, develop, support and challenge staff
  • Successful experience of effective financial and resource management to achieve priorities and ensure efficiency and value for money
  • Commercial awareness
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of safeguarding procedures
  • Experience in preparing and monitoring complex budgets and delivering against financial targets
  • Ability to write detailed documents and project plans
  • Experience operating at a senior level in a bilingual environment
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Clean Driving licence and use of a car
  • The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh is highly desirable, and if fluency is not achieved, a commitment to improving Welsh speaking skills will be essential.
