Challenging Behaviour Assistant - Lewisham
SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you looking to build a career in educatioN? Do you have a passion for working with students who display challenging behaviours? We are currently seeking a dedicated Challenging Behaviour Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school based in Lewisham.

As a SEN TA , you'll be supporting pupils with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring they can access learning in a safe, structured environment. This is a full-time, long-term role-perfect for someone who is passionate about education and training, and ready to make a real difference.


This vibrant and well-resourced SEN school in Lewisham caters to students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and other complex needs. The team is supportive and highly experienced, offering continuous education and training opportunities to help staff grow in their roles.

Your role as a Challenging Behaviour Assistant will include:

Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups

Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours

Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, adapted lessons

Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Working closely with the SENCO, therapists, and parents/carers

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour

Strong behaviour management techniques

Calm, resilient, and confident personality

A background or interest in education and training or psychology is desirable

Must be willing to work in Lewisham five days per week
