My large client in the utilities sector is currently looking for an experienced Change & Release Management Process Owner to join their team on a 6 month contract basis to plan, schedule and control of the build, test and deployment of releases as well as own and be accountable for all aspects of the Change and Release Management processes, including development, governance, compliance, performance, reporting and continual improvement.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Change Management Strategy - Develop and maintain the organisation's IT Change Management and Release Management strategies.
  • Change Risk Management - Ensure that the risk associated with IT Change is clearly understood and articulated.
  • Release Management - To reduce the risk associated with Change by grouping related Changes and managing their deployment via a defined Release Management process.
  • Process Accountability - Be accountable for, and ensure compliance with, all aspects of the process. Define, document, maintain and change manage the process in line with ITIL guidelines and ISO 20000 requirements.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance - Maintain a process Risk register and ensure that all associated Risks are identified, assessed and managed.

Skills that would make you successful in this role:

  • Qualified to ITIL Practitioner level (or equivalent)
  • A demonstrable understanding of the IT Change Management and Release Management processes, and other ITIL processes, acquired through previous experience in similar roles
  • A thorough knowledge of the energy sector, preferably gained from other organisations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 20000 standard and the interdependency of Service Management processes
