ROLE OVERVIEW

A highly professional and self-driven Chartered Surveyor is required to form an integral part of the dedicated Building Surveying division. Based in Birmingham, the position will require regular travel to meet the demands of projects. This position will support the Project Management discipline, carrying out the role of Senior Building Surveyor, alongside Employers Agent duties, while developing a workload pipeline.

You will be capable of working in all areas of Building Surveying, including but not limited to:

Professional Work

  • Defects Analysis of existing buildings and associates report writing
  • Party Wall matters (desirable)
  • Dilapidations
  • Building surveys, planning preventative, maintenance schedules, commercial and due diligence reports
  • PPM Surveys

Contract and Project Work

  • Contract Administrations/Employers Agent roles
  • Specification writing for minor works (new build) and a full scope of maintenance or refurbishment works
  • Site supervision
  • Monitoring construction works in respect of quality and progress and reporting to clients

These duties and responsibilities are indicative and not exhaustive. Adjustments may be required from time to time to reflect the changing needs of the company, but also dictated by your own drive, interests and direction.

Ideally you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Appropriate educational background demonstrating good levels of numeracy and literacy
  • Degree qualified (ideally RICS accredited)
  • MRICS qualified
  • Good IT literacy
  • Capable of communicating effectively and efficiently with design teams, colleagues and other professionals in the industry including clients
  • Capable of motivating/mentoring/developing others as part of their career progression
  • Excellent client facing skills and the ability to generate and develop workload pipeline
  • Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy

You will also have proven Building Surveying experience and a pro-active, professional, self-motivated attitude to work.
