- Job Type: 37.5 hours (10 days over 14 on a flexible working rota, every other weekend off)
- Salary: £27,000pa plus £500 bonus
Reed Business Support in Cambridge are delighted to be supporting one of Cambridge's most renowned colleges who seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional cookery, with experience in a busy kitchen environment. You will be responsible for running a section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food is of the highest quality and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Day to Day of the Role:- Prepare a wide variety of dishes to high standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Demonstrate excellent culinary skills with attention to detail and presentation.
- Maintain awareness of current food safety and relevant health & safety legislation.
- Work effectively within a team, contributing to a smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Level 3 (or equivalent) NVQ in professional cookery or relevant experience.
- Level 2 or above in Food Hygiene.
- Awareness of HACCP regulations.
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef.
- Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good understanding of current Food Safety and relevant Health & Safety legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to translate problems into practical solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach to hours and duties.
- Experience in a University or College environment.
- IT skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
