Smart4Chemicals are currently looking to recruit a Chemical Development Technologist for one of our clients based in the Somerset area.

To be considered for the role of Chemical Development Technologist you must be degree educated in chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science or a closely related subject. You must also possess industrial experience in working with fabrics and textiles.

As a Chemical Development Technologist you will be responsible for providing technical support, overseeing quality & transition manager in addition to liaising with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects.

Role requirements:

  • Degree educated as a minimum in chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science or a closely related subject.
  • Any experience with working to a variety of quality standards highly desirable.
  • Possess strong level of commercial and technical acumen so you can become adaptable and proactive in identifying new products & processes.
  • Previous experience in working with fabrics & textiles essential.

Role responsibilities:

  • Actively provide technical support through thorough and precise lab investigations, tests and trials.
  • Work with quality and operational teams to assist in the transition of projects from development to standard production.
  • Provide a high level of competency when it comes to using required testing apparatus, calibrating and recording findings and identifying external testing facilities as needed.
