Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Advisor to join our dedicated Child Protection Conference team. In this pivotal role, you will chair Child Protection Conferences and Contextual Safeguarding Child in Need meetings, providing critical oversight and safeguarding advice. You will work closely with multi-agency partners to develop and oversee effective safeguarding plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in Haringey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair Child Protection Conferences and Contextual Safeguarding Child in Need meetings.
  • Provide safeguarding advice to practitioners.
  • Develop and oversee child protection and contextual safeguarding plans.
  • Facilitate multi-agency collaboration and decision-making.
  • Promote the involvement of young people in their own meetings and planning.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Active Social Work England registration.
  • Experience: Substantial post-qualification experience in statutory children’s social work safeguarding services and chairing complex multi-agency meetings.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and quality assurance skills. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in child protection.
