CLASS 1 DRIVER

MONDAY - FRIDAY - With Various Start Times - AM/Afternoon's/PM

£16.25 - £20.35 PER HOUR 

People Solutions are working with a national logistics provider supporting them with their recruitment of Class 1 Drivers due to a change of location. We are looking for drivers to attend an assesment on 5th August and if successful, a start date of 12th August. 

This means that all roles have a great possibility of being permanent from day one.

Rates of pay:

  • £16.25 per hour basic
  • £20.35 per hour overtime after 48 hours

Day to Day Duties

  • Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to make 3 - 5 trunk runs a day
  • Curtain sider work
  • Make on time deliveries
  • Communicate with the transport team
  • Follow Company policies and procedures
  • Comply with driving rules and regulations
  • Strapping loads correctly (awkward loads)

Essential Skills

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE licence
  • Hold UK CPC and UK Digital Tachograph Card
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points for minor infringements with no major endorsement codes
  • Work in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Experience

Experience in strapping abnormal loads would be beneficial as well as navigating tight delivery depots.

Training

You will be required to pass a driving assessment before attending a Three-day company programme.
