Class 1 Driver (Day Shift)

Basic rate - £20.66 p/h
Overtime rate - £27.48 p/h
Plus Holiday pay
Rapier Employment Ltd is currently hiring a skilled HGV Class 1 Driver for our client in Welham Green, Hertfordshire.

Guaranteed work 5 days a week
Immediate starts
Ongoing positions
Various start times available to suit
Thursday – Monday or Friday – Tuesday
Overtime - £27.48 p/h after 46.25 hours (weekly)

The ideal candidate will have a valid HGV Class 1 licence, relevant experience in driving heavy goods vehicles, and a good understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate Class 1 vehicles to transport goods.
  • Ensure timely delivery and collection of products.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company policies as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Handle roller cages as needed, assisting sites with movement when required.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence (Held 1 year +)
  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a Class 1 Driver.
  • No more than six penalty points on licence and no major endorsement codes.
  • In-date CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • A good understanding of Drivers hours, Regulations, and Working time directive.
