About The Role
Overall, Purpose of the Role

Job Purpose:

To provide a high-quality cleaning, to patients, staff, and visitors, maintaining a clean and safe environment, in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the specification. These duties may be carried out, both in patient and non-patient environments.

To provide direction, guidance, and support to ensure the necessary duties are carried out to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and associated areas.

You will be expected to manage, train, and develop your team. You will perform these duties in a professional manner and strive to exceed customer expectations.

You will be working Saturday and Sunday, 14:00 to 22:00, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS Cleaning standards or equivalent.
  • To effectively manage and monitor the assigned units within budgetary restraints whilst conforming to the client's and OCS specification
  • To ensure the provision of adequate personnel cover at all times in line with the contract specifications
  • To apply quality control procedures to ensure that the standards of cleanliness comply with the contract requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also to work using your own initiative.
  • Ability to manage your own time and prioritise your own workload
  • Daily liaison with departmental leads on all service-related issues to ensure the best possible service delivery to the Trust
  • To carry out inductions, training/refresher training and job chats
  • To be courteous to staff, visitors, service users & team members
  • Ensure that all of your team are working safely and in line with all health and safety procedures. You must ensure that all adverse events and near misses are reported in accordance with the company procedure
  • To carry out all first line investigation procedures in line with OCS and client policy
  • To carry out all return-to-work interviews and first line absence meetings in line with the OCS policy
  • To oversee use and to take responsibility for all, consumables, equipment & machinery used. Report any defects or defaults of equipment/machinery to line manager
  • To develop a good knowledge of the unit you are working on to enable efficient working practices
  • To understand the units working pattern so you do not conflict with the units daily working pattern
  • To uphold the company core values at all times
  • Attend all training courses as required by the company
  • Comply with all company policy, procedure, and training at all times.
  • Comply with uniform policy at all times to include plain, closed toe shoes.
  • Comply with the company social media policy at all times.
  • To maintain company, patient, and client confidentiality at all times.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests from the company.

Skills:

  • Good organisational skills
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Punctuality, attendance & positive "can do attitude"

Education

  • NVQ level 2 desirable but not essential
  • IT skills including email required

Experiences:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping role.
  • Previous experience of Health & Safety in an hospital environment
  • Previous experience of working within a service industry
